Exciting news for Freeling residents – the Light Regional Council has confirmed $2.1m of Government funding for the Freeling Agricultural Multi-Purpose Centre project.
Expected to drive economic growth in the region, the proposal for the centre includes plans for a trade hall, training and meeting rooms, toilets and showers, a creche room plus sporting facilities.
Light Council Mayor Bill O’Brien says “The Freeling Agricultural Multi-Purpose Centre will cement Freeling’s status as the ‘Home of Agriculture'”.
Deputy Mayor Deane Rohrlach said “As a country town with a strong sense of community pride, the region’s farmers, townsfolk and businesses will maximise the use of the facility all year round for everything from community events to sporting activities… This project will truly establish our region as a leader in agriculture, expanding on the legacy of the town’s pioneers.”
